Our Story

Two women. One love.
A dream we call Tharuvi.

We were two friends with very different professional lives. One of us is an Assistant Professor. The other is an IT professional. But whenever we were together, somehow the conversation always found its way to sarees.

The colours we loved.
The weaves we admired.
The sarees we couldn't stop talking about.

And, of course, the sarees we loved wearing. Over time, we realised we were looking for the same thing a saree that was beautiful enough to make you fall in love with it, but comfortable enough to stay in all day. That thought stayed with us.

And then we took the leap.

About a year ago, we stepped away from our careers to build something of our own. It wasn't an easy decision. It was exciting. It was frightening. And honestly, we didn't know exactly where it would take us. We only knew where we wanted to begin.

With sarees.

So we started searching. We travelled. We explored. We learnt. We met people. We made mistakes. We changed our minds. And slowly, a simple idea began taking shape.

What we want Tharuvi to become

We don't want Tharuvi to be just another place to buy a saree. We want it to become a place where you discover sarees you wouldn't have found easily on your own.

Sarees with character.
Sarees with craftsmanship.
Sarees that feel as beautiful as they look.

And most importantly, sarees chosen with the kind of care we would want someone to take if they were choosing for us. We are still at the beginning of this journey. There is so much more we want to learn. So many artisans we want to meet. So many beautiful textiles we want to discover. But one thing will remain unchanged:
